The server may be configured to make available a number of text and graphical items (in
.gif format) which connected clients may request and view. This is useful for distributing
radar images or text forecasts from a central point. This ability can be combined with the
Broadcast function described elsewhere to allow clients
to generate custom forecasts based on available data at the server. By running a
(separate) script at various times of the day, the items available for distribution may be
refreshed. This allows clients to always pull down the latest versions for viewing or
incorporation into a broadcast.
